DIOCLETIAN COINS
Valerius Diocletianus, was born near Salona, in Dalmatia, in 245. He served in the army under Probus and Aurelian, followed Carus to the Persian war, and after the fate of Numerianus, was proclaimed Emperor by the troops, 284. In 286, the empire was divided between Diocletian and Maximian, and in 292 with Constantius Chlorus and Galerius. He died in 313.
