CONSTANS COINS

Flavius Julius Constans, youngest of the three sons of Constantine the Great and Fausta, received after his father's death (A.D. 337) Illyricum, Italy, and Africa as his share of the empire. After successfully resisting his brother Constantine, who was slain in invading his territory in 340, Constans became master of the whole West. He was slain in 350 by soldiers of the usurper Magnentius.
